Build-up of A working week of G

  • The installation A working week of G consists of seven screens.

  • Five of the screens show five different films.

  • Every film consists of eight different, ten minutes long scenes. Each scene represents one out of 8 hours of work, in Gs everyday work life as a vehicle varnisher.

  • The films are interrupted nonsynchronous by statements of G about his work. Each statement interrupts the film for 30 seconds.

  • The remaining two screens are switched off.

  • The installation is supposed to provide the impression, that Gs work life is based on a variation of routines, each fulfilling their own purpose and detached from each other.

  • Through following the statements by G, his attitude towards his job and work in general is revealed to the absorbing.
